After the party, we came home and enjoyed yummy homemade ice cream and fireworks with a few of our neighbors and friends. The kids were up way too late, ate way too much junk food and laughed and played till they dropped. What a great holiday! (I wish I'd taken some pictures of the fireworks and neighborhood gathering. By the time I realized I hadn't taken any pictures, it was too dark. Sorry!)
And lastly, a shout out to my amazing nephew Josh. He has been serving in the Marines for the last couple of years. He recently returned home from Iraq this spring, just to find out that he is being deployed again! We love him and miss him so much and hope that he knows how very proud we are of him! I hope that we all will take a moment to thank the wonderful soldiers who fight to protect us and defend our liberties. Their sacrifices, and the sacrifices of their families, make it possible for us to celebrate the 4th of July every day of our lives. God bless you all!
